Fraud Warning: Fake SureCare and Avatar Job and Sponsorship Offers

Important notice for job applicants and anyone who has been contacted regarding employment or visa sponsorship with SureCare Group or Avatar Care Group.

We have become aware that criminals are sending fraudulent job and visa sponsorship offers using the names of SureCare Group and Avatar Care Group.

Some of these communications have followed unauthorised access to one of our email accounts. We want anyone who may have been contacted to understand what is happening, how to recognise the scam, and what steps to take to protect themselves.

How to recognise the scam

The fraudulent messages may offer you:

  • A job with SureCare Group or Avatar Care Group
  • Visa sponsorship
  • A Certificate of Sponsorship or similar employment documentation
  • Assistance with visa or recruitment processing

You may then be asked to pay money for sponsorship, visa processing, recruitment fees or other administrative costs.

We never ask applicants to pay for a job or sponsorship.

SureCare Group and Avatar Care Group will never ask an applicant to pay money at any stage of the recruitment process.

If someone claiming to represent us asks you to make a payment in connection with a job, recruitment, or sponsorship opportunity, do not pay them.

What you should do

If you receive a suspicious job or sponsorship offer:

  • Do not make any payment
  • Do not send copies of your passport, ID or other personal documents
  • Do not provide your bank or payment details
  • Do not click suspicious links or download unexpected attachments
  • Contact us directly to verify the communication before taking any further action

If you have already made a payment, contact your bank immediately and explain that you believe you have been the victim of fraud.

You should also report the incident to Action Fraud:

Telephone: 0300 123 2040

Website: actionfraud.police.uk

If you are outside the UK, please report the incident to your local police or relevant fraud authority.

How to check whether an offer is genuine

If you have applied for a role with us and are unsure whether an email, message, or offer is legitimate, please contact SureCare Group directly before responding or taking any action.

Genuine email communications from our organisations will only come from official domains:

  • @surecaregroup.com
  • @avatarcaregroup.co.uk

Please be cautious even if a message appears professional or contains our company name, branding, or staff details. Fraudsters may copy legitimate information to make fraudulent communications appear genuine.

What SureCare Group is doing

We have reported this matter to the relevant authorities and to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

We are also taking appropriate steps to strengthen the security of our systems and protect our organisation, applicants and wider community.

We take the misuse of our name and the targeting of people seeking employment extremely seriously.

Please help us protect others

If you know someone who is applying for care work, employment, or sponsorship opportunities, please share this warning with them.

Remember: SureCare Group and Avatar Care Group will never ask you to pay for a job or sponsorship.

If you are unsure, contact us directly before sending money, documents, or personal information.
